Privacy Policy

What we collect, and why.

Last updated: May 9, 2026

Summary

Pingmap collects the minimum data needed to run the service: your account info, the sitemaps you ask us to monitor, and the URLs we submit to IndexNow on your behalf. We do not track you across the web, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

What we collect

When you use Pingmap, we store:

  • Account info. Email address, name (if provided), and a Pingmap user ID. Authentication is handled by Clerk; see their privacy policy for what they store.
  • Site config. Each site you connect: hostname, sitemap URLs, the IndexNow verification key file we generate for you, and your chosen polling cadence.
  • Sitemap snapshots. The URLs listed in your sitemaps, kept so we can diff against the next fetch and only submit what changed.
  • Submission history. Every IndexNow submission we make on your behalf: timestamp, URL count, response code, latency, and any error message.
  • Subscription state. If you upgrade, LemonSqueezy is the merchant of record. We mirror their subscription state (plan, status, trial / renew dates) but never see your payment card.
  • Server logs. Standard request logs (IP, user agent, timestamp) kept for security and debugging.

What we do with it

  • Run the service: poll your sitemaps, diff, submit to IndexNow.
  • Send transactional emails (verification, billing receipts, critical service notices). We don't send marketing email unless you opt in.
  • Respond to support requests and investigate abuse.

Who we share with

We use a small number of subprocessors. Each receives only the data needed to do their job:

  • Clerk — authentication, session management.
  • Neon — Postgres database hosting.
  • Vercel — application hosting.
  • LemonSqueezy — payments, invoicing, tax handling, and the customer portal. Acts as the merchant of record for paid plans.
  • IndexNow endpoint — the URLs you choose to submit are sent to api.indexnow.org, which forwards them to participating search engines. We do not control what those engines do with the data.
  • Simple Analytics — cookie-less aggregate page-view counts, no personal data. See the Cookies and analytics section below.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train machine-learning models.

Data retention

  • Account and site config. Kept while your account exists. Deleted within 30 days of account closure.
  • Sitemap snapshots. Latest snapshot only — older snapshots are overwritten on each fetch.
  • Submission history. 7 days on Free, 90 days on Pro, 1 year on Agency.
  • Server logs. 30 days, then automatically purged.

Your rights

You can access, export, or delete your data at any time. Self-serve options live in the dashboard's Settings page (per-site delete) and Billing page (account-wide controls). For anything you can't do from the app, email salah@salahadawi.com and we'll respond within 7 days.

Cookies and analytics

We set a session cookie via Clerk so you stay signed in.

For aggregate page-view counts, Pingmap uses Simple Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics provider. Simple Analytics is cookie-less, doesn't track you across sites, doesn't build user profiles, and doesn't collect personally identifying data. We don't run any other third-party trackers.
